#1 tip for stress free wedding planning | Wedding Wednesday

Today we are going to talk about how to plan your wedding without stress.  It is often said and believed that wedding planning is very stressful.  I remember all of the warnings I was given once I got engaged about how the months of wedding planning would be some of the most stressful of my life.  Bride's so often loose weight because of the stress that dress designers regularly plan to bring your dress in right before the wedding.  To say stressful wedding planning isn't normal would be a total lie, because it is very normal.  Almost every bride I talk to expresses the stress of planning.  Although, I am here to tell you it doesn't have to be!  Wedding planning can actually be very enjoyable, with this one key tip that I lived by when planning my own wedding.

Stop looking.

This made such a difference for me.  Once I had decided on a venue, I stopped looking at any others.  Once I'd decided on a wedding dress, I no longer scrolled Pinterest looking at others.  Same went for bridesmaid dresses and the men's suits.  Once I'd decided on the general decor of our ceremony and reception, I stuck with it and as I knocking items off of the list I stopped looking at alternatives.  Basically, I stayed off of Pinterest altogether and didn't allow myself to change my mind.

There were definitely decisions that took longer than others.  The bridesmaid dresses were particularly difficult for me to make a decision on.  I was looking for something classy, romantic, and if I'm honest, at a bargain price.  This took some digging and searching for me to find, but once I decided on a dress I placed the order, let the girls know, and didn't let myself look anymore.

Same for the florals.  I took my inspiration to my florist (the wonderful Jane Cain at Wallfower Studios in Randolph, NY) and let her work her magic.  I didn't contact her with any changes or second guesses, I just trusted that what she created would be stunning, and it absolutely was.  I highly recommend her to any bride getting married sood!  Jane is phenomenal!

Once you make a decision, stick with it!  Don't let yourself second guess your decisions, and stick to your gut.  Keep an open mind when making decisions, be flexible, but once you make a choice don't waver from it.  Take Pinterest off your phone if you have to, it'll save you the stress of late night "what ifs"!

I hope you all found this tip helpful!  I found it to be SO freeing while planning my own wedding, and it's what I have constantly told other brides since then!  Make a decision you are confident it, and then stop looking.
