Behind the Scenes 2018
Hello KGP Fam, and Happy New Years Eve!!
2018 has been a year to remember, and I cannot wait to see all 2019 brings! Tomorrow I will be sharing the best of 2018 for KGP (keep an eye out for that!), but today I am sharing some behind the scenes from this year! I LOVE seeing what goes on behind the scenes for other businesses, so I figured this might be entertaining for you all!
These images are from my first wedding EVER. My college roommate (and dear friend) recommended me to her older sister for their December wedding, and they decided to take a chance on me! In a scramble to be prepared Jackson and I bought my first camera (my beloved Canon 5D Mark iii) and three lenses to start my kit. I brought my sister, Madison, along as an “assistant”, a.k.a. emotional support. :) I had an absolute BLAST and knew after this night that this was exactly what God wanted me to do! This wedding was a complete dream come true. My second wedding EVER was in Seattle, WA!! Anyone who knows me well knows that I am OBSESSED with Seattle. So this was a complete dream for me! Although I have to say, I am so thankful for adrenaline. The night we were supposed to arrive in Seattle our flight out of Cleveland was delayed 6 HOURS. I got a little over 4 hours of sleep, and am pretty sure I made it through the day on only adrenaline and the grace of God. Aside from my exhaustion, this wedding was absolutely incredible, and for the sweetest of couples. Check out David & Mareena’s wedding here!
Kyle and Cathryn’s wedding day was easily the hottest wedding day of 2018! For their engagement session it was right around upper 80’'s and VERY sunny. Their wedding day was 94 degrees without a single cloud in the sky! THEN, their reception day was also mid 90s with, once again, completely clear skies! It’s a good thing I was wearing black on their wedding day so you couldn’t see how badly I was sweating, haha. :) Everyone was so great about dealing with the heat, and it was SUCH a fun day! Riley is a good childhood friend of mine, and so hers and Erik’s wedding will always hold a special place in my heart. Everyone was so chill the entire day, and their reception was SO fun! I was honored to have been asked to be a part of their day, and it was a joy being able to capture every detail! The rain held off (it had rained the whole week prior) and their wedding was held on the most peaceful of autumn days. Check out Erik & Riley’s wedding here!
John and Jess’s wedding day was so much fun!! Jess had everyone right on time and organized, and as a schedule oriented person, I really appreciated that! Their wedding was also my first at the new Chautauqua Harbor Hotel in Celeron, and I was blown away by not only the facilities, but the service there as well! Their wedding was on a gorgeous overcast fall day, and we got some of my favorite wedding party portraits to date with this wonderful group. Check out John & Jess’s wedding here!
Who knew that within my first year of business I would be capturing a wedding in the Florida Keys?! I am so thankful to have been asked to travel to such amazing places to capture these couples’ wedding days! Scott and Kaitlin were gifted with the most gorgeous weekend down in Marathon, Florida. I mean, the sunset was absolutely stunning, low humidity, very slight breeze, and the sun was out in full force. I still have to pinch myself to believe that I was actually there! Check out Kaitlin and Scott’s gorgeous wedding here!
Allyson and Max’s wedding was really special to me. They got married on almost the same day as Jackson and I, and at the same church as Jackson and I. My Dad even officiated! The whole day Jackson and I kept looking at each other and saying, “do you remember when that was us?!” The nostalgia was real.
Also, my fingers were tested to their limits this day! It was a cool 25 degrees and WINDY when doing their outside bridal party portraits, and my poor fingers were struggling! Thankfully everyone was so wonderful and patient, and one of the bridesmaids even warmed my fingers with her hands! (You’re the real MVP, Jen!)

Connor and Olivia’s wedding was the last of the year, and was also very special to us. Connor and Olivia are sweet friends of ours, and it meant so much to both Jackson and I to be a part of their wedding day!
The girls got ready at our house, I helped with some hair, and Jackson tackled the groomsmen portraits for the first time and killed it!
Also, after months of nothing but overcast days, the sun came out to shine just as we were shooting bridal party portraits. I was ecstatic! Such a wonderful wedding to end the 2018 KGP season! Keep an eye out for their wedding blog post coming later this week!
2018 was a wonderful year, and we cannot say thank you enough! Keep an eye out tomorrow for our Best of 2018 blog post! Have a wonderful New Years, everyone!
